Why is it that homophobic attacks only force some to raise questions when the perpetrators are Muslims?

Strange, isn't it?

Perhaps it's because unless it's a murder, such as Ian Baynham - attacks are rarely reported in the national press.in fact, you'd almost believe that the only thing the gays community are interested in doing is "destroying the traditional family unit" (care of Melanie Phillips in the Daily Mail).

Is this a case of "Who do we hate most - gays or Muslims" and Muslims losing out?

Will be interesting to see how these new supporters of the gay cause will react when the next 'gay adoption' story crops up!

Just thought of something else - if the LGBT communities are being targeted for hate crimes - does that justify the increased sentencing when the perpetrators are convicted?
Presumably because they are more anti-muslim than they are anti-gay.

Next question.
Odd.....I have never associated Muslims with homosexuality.....have I missed the point?

I have read the OP several times and i am not sure that i understand it............no reflection on your post, rather a reflection of my questionable intellect.
LGBT = Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender
Sqad

No, I think sp is communicating in code today.
Gromit.........my summing u:

If gays are attacked by non Muslims.........nobody cares a t0ss.
If gays are attacked by Muslims........the "balloon goes up"

Is that it sp?

If it is....then i have never noticed.
What would be the Mail's position if a Gay Muslin was the victim of an attack?
sandy....no idea....tell us.
If I knew I wouldn't have to ask
sandy...LOL...this thread seems to be dead in the water unless sp returns with some explanations which might revive it.
Homosexuality is not approved of in Islam, so it's a distinct possibility, sandyroe.
Obviously sp's question is appertaining to my recent thread.

If I am in deed correct in assuming this, then why did he find the need to enter an entirely different thread of his own?
Should he have asked your permission first, AOG ?

I think that there is a great deal of truth in the adage 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'...

I regularly read a news source online which reports on gay-hate attacks.

These reports are never picked up in the national press...unless the perpetrators happen to be Muslim.

I find it odd that attacks on the LBGT (which does indeed stand for lesbian, bi, gay and transgender) community are generally ignored, unless Muslims are involved.

It's like certain newspapers (and posters) have a chart of whom they hate the most:

It's like Top Of The Pops:

1. Muslims
2. Lefties
3. Feminists
4. Russell Brand
5. Hoodies
6. Gays
7. Jonathan Ross
8. Eastern European
9. Unmarried mothers
10. The 'workshy'

I know I've left some off...!
sp. Surely we still have a right to an opinion. I think"Hate" is too strong a word, but dislike is better. If some of the items you have listed is against their principles - so be it

<<<I regularly read a news source online which reports on gay-hate attacks. >>

I have never noticed the bias but you may well be right.

<<These reports are never picked up in the national press...unless the perpetrators happen to be Muslim. >>

Again, I have never noticed this.....but will I take your word for it.

<<<<I find it odd that attacks on the LBGT (which does indeed stand for lesbian, bi, gay and transgender) community are generally ignored, unless Muslims are involved.>>>

If that IS the case, then i would agree with you. .......but I hadn't noticed.

The "Top of the Pops" engenders debate........some people have opinions that differ from others.

I am a Daily Mail reader and a Daily Telegraph reader at the weekend.....!!!

No - physical attacks on gay people are sourced in hate.

These aren't people calmly expressing their opinions - they are people beating up and occasionally killing gay people.

Surely you cannot support that as te expression of an opinion???
sp. I said "some of the items listed", I do not believe any form of violence can or should be condoned.
But if a person cannot accept homosexuality then that is their opinion or may I add faith.
sp1814

Pretty good list you have drawn up there, but I wouldn't agree with the order you have put them in, but that is your choice and you have every right to your own choices.
