telephone sales :(

Hi all,

Can anyone please help i am getting telesales from uk and abroad non stop. I have tryed to get help from BT but they say "Just put the phone down."

Well i dont know about you but this is driving me mad.There must be a way to stop this :(

Would love to hear from all of you on this subject.

P.S. New to this site and i think its just GREAT :)

we joined a service called TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE a few years ago and we have only had one or two of the nusiance calls. my in laws must get about 2 a day and we have advised them to join the TPS but as have yet to do so. im not sure how we joined, i know its free, if you do get any calls then you make a note of the company, then contact TPS and the company can be fined as your number is on a database thats not to be called. i think if you put TPS into your search engine then something must come up on it.

we registered with the TPS years ago and it had practically eliminated all nuisance calls, however over the last month I have had quite a few and these have been from abroad, so i am not sure if the TPS system covers non UK calls

No, TPS does not cover other than those from the UK.  You could also get a bar on "with held numbers" ie if you can't get the number by dialling 1471, then those calls won't get through, which are the majority of cold calls.  Unfortunately it will also bar those of your friends who bar their number from being displayed/played back.

i am off to register as i get nuisance calls..from sales people..only this week i have contacted the company where the majority are coming from and said i shall have them for nuisance if i get another..as for junk mail well if they enclose a prepaid envelope then i write junk mail returned unwanted all over it put it in the envelope and return it to them..they can pay the postage ..if every one did this then i am sure they would get the message..

KESTREL i also do the same with junk mail, but i just put any info they send me without my name on and post it back. they pay the postage HAHAHA!!!!
