I think he should be praised for speaking his mind, its a pity there arn't more like him, but I suppose its more acceptable for them to blame it on a breakdown etc, perhaps they will book him into the Priory.

DEN....LOL.
gardening leave, well known phrase, go home until you sort yourself out, either by dint of getting help from doctors if you are having mental or physical health problems, or time to reflect on what is wrong with your career, job. Sometimes its just to shift the person elsewhere because they are not good at the job they are doing and gives the employer time to find out what to do with a person who doesn't fit in.
I think the man has problems, he would have been reprimanded for the outburst, but there seems to be underlying issues, no one would do that if there weren't.

em10...I agree entirely.
LADY GAGA?
the worse offenders for not washing hands are the doctors, followed by nurses, cleaners, do not tell me that the bloke had that grievance, rolled up sleeves or no.
probably gromit or some other Tony fan on a mission!
Why should he be disciplined for speaking out?

What would Cameron have said if a mere mortal had breeched certain rules in his hallowed grounds?

It is disgusting if he has been forced to take leave, when persons with his skills are in such short supply.

Politicians on the other hand are plentiful,in fact too plentiful, so if Mr Cameron or his 'side kick' or both, wish to stand down, then it's ok by me.

Indeed , but we do not know whether this was indeed the case.

Don't you think that they may have had a word to say to the NHS authorities about the surgeon's outburst?

Only trying to read between the lines, so I may be wrong.
If you were a patient in hospital could you ask not to be visited by self-promoting politicians?
Question Author
AOG...you may be right.......I have no idea of the details.
Question Author
sandy...of course you could....rest assured the patient gave his/her permission.
Its likely the hospital were happy for Cameron and sidekick to be there, they can't just turn up on the day and say here i am, which side of the bed shall i sit, In hospitals there are still protocols for visitors and families being present and not just for politicians, having been in several hospitals over the last few years, can testify that are not the places to be in if you are ill. But i would rather had Cameron sitting by the bed, than some of the idiot patients who jabber on the mobiles day and night, eat fast food which stink the wards out, and don't know when to shut the hell up. The end.
I think he is an attention grabbing pr1ick - he knew that the media and th Prime Minister were there, presumably with his knowledge - took the opportunity to try to embarass the assembled people in front of the cameras - if he hasnt been fired he should be.
Question Author
Gladeian...LOL...you certainly got that off your chest........................................
