Very much has been said on Answerbank regarding certain newspapers, which incidentally are all classed as the 'The Right Wing Press', or 'those rags' and sometimes much worse.

So in a matter of interest, and given the chance, what newspapers would ABers wish to go the same way as the News of the World, what newspapers should remain, and why?

Apart from the Guardian, the Observer on Sunday, and the Mirror, they could all go.
The guardian, Mirror and Observer can go.
I'd keep the Guardian, the Observer, the Mirror and the Yorkshire Post! Oh and maybe the Metro for when I forget something to read and need Sudoku style entertainment on the commute!
Hutton Courier (spelling ) Never the same since amos stopped reporting for it
All newspapers that include more advertising junk than the paper itself.
I have stopped buying the Telegraph on the weekend for that reason.
For the sake of your blood pressure AoG, I would recommend the Daily Wail - I remain convinced that its particular mix of stories is very bad for your health :)
All except The Western Daily Press IMO.
I don't like to see any newspaper go, not even the Screws. Saying that, I do not see much point in the Daily Star, who is it for?
If saving money to survive then certain papers could merge without any great loss. The Mail and the Express are the same thing. The daily Mirror could be merged with Viz.
Just leave the Daily Telegraph alone.
Any that report their opinion as if it were fact

Oh that's all of them isn't it?
since I only ever buy the Mail ,The Sunderland Echo and the local Sunday paper(Sunday Sun) you can get rid of the rest for me!!!
The Mirror, The guardian and The Observer on Sunday and the Sport if it is still printed.
Certain newspapers I would like to see change. I'm sure we all have different opinions about that.
None should go. What exactly would that solve?
The Racing Post, and Oldham Chronicle should stay
the guardian, perhaps there'd be less non jobs in the public sector.
For me, the Mail, the Sun, and the Star.
The Mail and the Sun are the best selling newspapers in the country. There are millions who buy those papers every day, and those readers deserve to have the newspapers they want.
In the UK, we are lucky that we have a lot of daily newspapers across the political spectrum. The demise of the News of the World is a loss. I didn't like the NotW but plenty did. The NotW went rotten because it started to act illegally. It was shut down not out of an act of contrition, but because it had become a liability.
Keep the Telegraph for its sports and crosswords, Morning Star (to antagonise AOG and his crew), and the FT

and of course Private Eye, The Economist and the Beano.
None need to go!....we can all chose what we buy!.......if we don't buy, then they'll never survive!.......our choice!......
I like the Telegraph, and the Observer, but I have to buy the Daily Excess for MrAsk, he likes to keep things simple., but I refuse to simplify it more by buying the Mirror., and never the Sun.
