Will my CRB check stop my partner from becoming a Child Minder ?

About 8 years ago I was in a relationship where my Fiancee advised me she was having an affair, I slapped her (something I am not proud about) and was sorry the second later, The police got involved and I confessed and held my hands up and got a 6 month suspended sentince .

Now I am happy and have a nice wife and two beautifull children, My wife wants to become a registered child minder and I have to have A CRB Check, will my above crime stop her ? also how much information is passed on with CRB my wife knows I have a criminial recored but I have not told her the full detail as it is something I am not proud about.

Please advise, I feel I am going to let my wife down big style due to my past.

if you are required to have a CRB check then of course anything that comes up on that will be considered as your wife tries to set up her business, as you will have other peoples children within your home.

perhaps you should tell your wife the details now so that she can ask about how it will affect her application

It is better to come clean, explain the circumstances rather than just let the CRB check get done and the results come back on it.
Tell your wife everything that happened and why
It is possible your crime may stop your wife's venture, sorry

How much contact with any children she may care for will you have?

Pink kittens I think when working with vulnerable people ( so young children in this case) it would be An enhanced crb. I had to have the advanced one for uni. It may affect her, but they may weigh up that's there's only one incident and 8 years ago. Not sure though. Good luck x

Not for the partner of the childminder it isn't - it's a normal one

In real terms I will have not contact, I will be out at work before the children arrive and by the time I retutrn home the children will have being collected.

That *could* be your defence then but you MUST explain your actions and conviction before you send off your check

Is your your wife is training to be a minder via her local council?
