Ms Mills says she told the Daily Mirror journalist in 2001: "You've obviously hacked my phone..." Did the expression 'hacking' with regard to phones exist 10 years ago? I can't recall hearing it before 2010, maybe even not til this year.

It's possible, of course, that at the time what she actually said was 'interfered with' or 'listened in to' rather than 'hacked'. Given that the word 'hacked' is in such common use today, when she refers to the process NOW, she chooses to use it. Just a thought.

GSM (i.e. digital) phones were released in 1993 and are virtually impossible to listen in on using scanners. Also, this whole story is not about listening in on peoples conversations, it's about listening to peoples voice mail messages. It's hardly hacking either, if you know the persons phone number you dial the voice mail centre for that persons network, enter their phone number and if they'd not set a PIN or left it as default you can listen to their messages.

i have seen stalls set up recently in the street, offering advice on how to get your money back from banks, if you paid for payment protection plan on loans, suggest that people who go there for advice need their head examining. Seeing how the best place is the bank, not some loan shark lookalike
