As expected, it's kicked off again, this time in Enfield.

I trust the Met will deal with rioters/looters in a far more robust manner this evening and let it be known that such behaviour will not be tolerated.

Trouble is, there's no effective sanctions any more.
Flogging people to within an inch of their lives / placing in the stocks unfortunately and laughably seems to breach something called 'Human Rights' by bureaucrats.

well, killing people in advance has certainly not proved to be an effectgive sanction, so maybe they could stop doing that? There don't seem to be a lot of riots when police aren't shooting people (and trying to cover it up) - perhaps there's a connection?

good point, Eddie. So we're stuck with corrupt police on our streets for another year at least. I think the police are long overdue for cleaning up, but I expect you're right - it's just not going to happen right now.

In the longer term I guess they need to be able to respond to Twitter as quickly as looters do, which won't be easy.

Go back 45 years, there were never any rioters/looters, gun/knife crime till the immigrants were allowed in the UK, think about it!!!!!!

pity the poor people in the communities who have lost their business or home, as to the rioting it had spread to other parts of London, Wood Green, Enfield, and indeed Tottenham, can see that some on here think that its ok to go out and throw petrol bombs, stones, at the police, to loot and rob.
As to it happening when someone is killed, not so, otherwise why were there student riots, right wing, left wing whoever, for some its just anarchy, a way to hit out at the police, but all it does is hurt ordinary folk, just going about their daily lives. No one should condone this sort of behaviour.

I don't believe that the looters and rioters have any real concern or connection to the shooting at all. They are just nasty, bored little brainless vandals who wait for something to happen that they can use as an excuse to go out and create havoc! Do any of these idiots seriously think that vandalism such as this will have any affect on the way the police go about their business? The family of the guy who was shot will already be going through a dreadful time. This will make things even worse for them. I really wish the judicial system in this country would give harder sentences to rioters and looters who ruin other peoples lives with their mindless actions! I feel the police are so often let down by a judicial system that is unable to give appropriate sentences and stick to them.
