Re the solicitors, I have personal experience of firms who for instance do nothing but advise clients on how to get into this country and stay here by exploiting loopholes, making dubious claims and using the appeals procedure. These are not people who would ever defend me if needed.

I have dealt with the criminal courts going back many years, and our judiciary were doing a far better job when their hands weren't tied, and the CPS weren't always looking over their shoulders.

There are so many cases which fly in the face of common sense these days.
