My guess is that many will not sleep good tonight and that the bin men will find thousands of pounds of stolen goods dumped in the bins.

I heard earlier that the police are not happy with the leniency of some of the sentences are too lenient, if ever we needed examples set by long sentences it is now.
Just been watching this Wrong ... They seem to be coming down on the ones identified which is right & proper.

Quassia they really need to scare the rioters and any potential rioters to stop this happening in the future.

^With heavy sentences ^
I doubt this will be a deterrent for future riots.
I really can't see that police cautions, community orders and small fines are going to make alleged rioters quake in their boots - dragging these people through the legal system for such derisory punishments is quite frankly a waste of taxpayer's money.

Ummm It would be especially if most of them get caught, jailed and the goods they stole confiscated, the next time they want to kick off they'll hopefully look back at the time when they got involved and stole lots of goods and had a "great night out" only to have their door kicked off at 5am, the goods taken and then to have been thrown in jail.
Mushroom, Yes that's why they need to up the sentences and stop mollycoddling them and make prime examples.

Lol, sara3 I'll never look at another bottle of water the same.
I'm sick of these poor excuses which you'll find repeated many times over the course of the trials "“I got caught up in the moment” Idf I was the prosecutor I'd say So anything that is illegal happening as you're walking past you're very likely to jump in as you're “getting caught up in the moment” ? This makes you a very dangerous and unpredictable individual then and you need to be locked up for as long as we can!" lol.
the magistrates are getting caught up in the moment too, and giving sentences they wouldn't normallly give because they've got Cameron and May baying at them. I was startled at the guy who got 16 weeks for telling a cop 'I'd smash you if you took your uniform off.' Here's a cop who's supposed to be protecting the public and property from looting and rioting, actually busy protecting his own self-esteem by arresting people for giving cheek.

No great sympathy for water thieves, though. Theft is theft.
Wheres Mamya "whos crying now" sorry I dont know how to post it
Don't forget its 4 weeks jail for throwing a custard pie ........
