What do you think of Sally Bercow being a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother? On the one hand, it may seem rebellious if not disrespectful especially as she admits her husband does not approve. On the other hand, she herself is not The Speaker and she is raising lots of money for charity by participating.

Not only is she not the Speaker, she is not a celebrity either. She is a self-seeking publicist with all the style and social graces of a hippopotamus in heat (apologies to all self-respecting hippopotami).

I think she should show more respect to her husband's position. I appreciate it's for charity but if that was her prioirity there are many other ways for her to give or raise money.

One wonders whether there has ever been an 'actual' celebrity on Big Brother. However, give the definition of that word which seems to apply in Britain today, I san see no way in which she falls short. Good luck to her!

Simply by being married to The Speaker, she could stand accused of bringing that position into dis-repute. (As if the MP's don't do enough of that by themselves anyway) She could raise money for charity in many other forms.

To my ming a celebrity is an actor/actress.A sportsman/woman is that and so on and so forth.

Being an MP, a famous chef or married to anyone like that does not make one a celebrity.
