Helps them hit their emissions targets.
Yes there was all that stuff about evening out fuel prices and the escalator tax.
Of course as soon as they were in Government it "was more complex than first thought"
Funny that

Well it's all part of Dave 'n' Georges money making strategy
Increase indirect taxes , decrease subsidies and blame someone else
Petrol Going up? - price of oil!
University fees - not us Guv!
Council tax services slashed - blame your local council!
Then if anybody spots you wail about "the last labour government" and how the country is broke.
Finally hand out big tax cuts just before the next election
Hopefully everyone is dumb as rocks and will buy it

"The problem of Libya has only just started. And,No ceap fuel. Why would we rob their assets then give them away cheap? "
How have we robbed Libya of her assets?
I'm not sure the Libya situation will have a dramatic effect on oil prices even when production there is back to normal.
Some with a grasp of economics way beyond mine (not difficult) claim that oil prices may eventually fall due to global economic problems.
