What has it got to do with the likes of Vanessa Redgrave, would she like them bordering on her land?

I love how they call them travellers, they haven't moved anywhere for bloody years!

A massive part of me says "ship 'em on", but then I think "well where to?" wouldn't want them anywhere near where I live, that's for sure. So I guess until they figure out exactly where to move them to, perhaps they should stay there?
Vanessa Redgrave with her money and her bleeding heart could always offer to house them on her land. I would not want to look out fro the bottom of my garden and see rubbish, bonfires and fights on a daily basis, so they'd have to go.
If they want to be accepted by society they need to try fitting in with society other wise they go!!!

Travellers my a$$ more like stationeries!!!
I lived in Ireland, and they are despised there. When they come to town, everything has to be nailed down as it'll be nicked. My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding was one-sided, when a wedding takes place all hell breaks loose with thievings and fights.
Their settlement sets a precedent on green belt land. If the courts allow them to stay all our green belt will follow as residential.
But as ive asked- where do they go to if moved from there?
Who's problem is where are they going to go? That's like saying I've found squatters in my house but they need to go but where? Who cares as long as they're off my land.
Agree to a point m1chae1, but say they move them from there and they then move next door to you? Can't see you being happy with that one. See what I'm getting at?

Wherever you move them to, they're going to seriously naff off their new neighbours. The problem won't disappear, it just moves to a different location.
Aha, good point boo and I understand what you mean, do the travellers constantly keep movin until they've outstayed their welcome and are moved on and then up and leave and start again? This can't be a good way to live and probably not very healthy for the kids as how can they learn and how can the travellers intergrate if we're always moving them on? We welcome people from every corner of the globe but can't even look after our own? Isn't it possible for us to build a permanent site for the travellers, a town or city for them to permanently reside and go to schools and be educated?
Vanessa Redgrave has as much right to express her opinion as you have. Is there a problem with that?
<<We welcome people from every corner of the globe but can't even look after our own? >>

The vast majority of the so-called 'travellers' are migrants from Ireland not indigenous Romanies.

They might be more welcome if they treated the places they moved into (and the local planning laws) with more respect.

I'm willing to be Vanessa has a massive country pile with oodles of land attached to it, she's probably offering to accommodate them in her own garden as we speak...

Possibly ;-)

It is illegal, there is therefore no debate, they go.

They want more permanent sites they go get planning permission for them from the locals.
They should go............the only pity is that it's taken so long to get rid of them.
I think the local authority has offered some of them council flats. Those were declined because they said settled living wouldn't fit with their lifestyle. They seem to have settled in Dale Farm, though.
Ok, as ive kept asking...go where?
