Amanda Knox Conrad Murray
56 Answers
Well, I studied enough of the Amanda Knox case to be convinced that Amanda and Rafaelle's conviction was the most disgusting media hatchet job, and miscarriage of justice.
And now, Conrad Murray has gone on trial.
Is he the victim of a frenzied media and public, who cannot accept that Jacko pressed the self destruct button years ago? Or is he a cunning murderer?

The Appeal process has torn apart the prosecution case.
Gulio Mignini has avoided prison by appealing against his sentence. In the UK, he would be in prison, awaiting his Appeal (like Amanda and Rafaelle!). In Italy, bizzarely, he is still working as a prosecutor.
There is NO evidence of Amanda being involved.
There is NO evidence that she is evil. Quite the reverse ...
All the evidence is that she is happy-go-lucky.
And ... how stupid are the public??? ... the Italian prosecution have convinces everyone to see the opposite of the truth ...
She is happy go lucky ... therefore, she is EVIL ... and a murderer.
How did they pull that idiocy?
If someone smiles, they are evil ???
WOW !!!!!!!
(I must remember to look grumpy from now on)

On the night of the murder, Amanda was at Raffaele's apartment.
A friend of Raffaelle's called Jana Popovich testified that she had told Raf she might need a lift to the railway. She called in at Raf's apartment twice that evening, and says she saw both Raf and Amanda on both occasions.
Amanda was due to go to work later on at Lamumba's bar, Le Chic. Lamumba texted her, and said he didn't need her. She replied "Okay, see you later, good night". Having the opportunity of a night alone with Raf, Amanda switched off her mobile phone (this was so she could have supper and sex with Raf ... not so that she could pop round and murder Meredith).
Raf and Amanda watched the DVD of Amelie, had dinner, smoked a joint (which they both readily admitted), had sex, and went to sleep.
The Italian Prosecution claimed that the text saying "see you later" did not mean I'll see you when I see you (which we all know it does) ... they claimed it meant "I will meet up with you at a later time tonight when we will carry out our plan to murder my flatmate".
That is absurd for two reasons.
(1) Because we all know what "see you later" means. I say it at night, when I leave a friend. "See you later, babes". Quite evidently, I am NOT going to see the same friend later.
(2) Patrick Lamumba's innocence is part of the Prosecution's case. They say Knox is evil for trying to frame him. But, given that he is innocent, HOW can the text from Amanda be part of a plot, involving Lamumba, to murder Meredith?

OK JJ thanks. The reason I asked was that I heard on the news from an English reporter who is in Perugia that AK, and I believe RS as well, had their phones on all night and didn't switch them off until 6am the following morning. I didn't hear whether they made any calls that night or not. I realise of course that this would be the Italian Prosecution saying this.
So do you think Guede did it on his own?
So do you think Guede did it on his own?
There is no serious doubt ... Rudy Guede did it on his own.
Where did this "sex game gone wrong" fantasy come from?
Why would Meredith Kercher have got involved in a "sex game"?
Guede left substantial amounts of DNA in, on and around Meredith's body. Even on the Prosecution's case, the DNA from Amanda and Raffaele was so miniscule that it took intense scientific analysis to detect it. That is hardly consistent with the suggestion that they had taken part in a bout of sex, followed by a violent, brutal murder. The DNA claims are laughable.
Guede played basketball with the four men who lived downstairs from Meredith and Amanda. He know the layout of the apartment. He had committed several break-ins in Perugia, and in Milan, during the month before the murder.
On the night of the murder, the residents of the apartment were all out (including Amanda). Guede knew this, because of his acquaintance with the foru men downstairs.
He threw a rock (which was found) through a window (a method he had used in his previous break ins). He pulled out the remaining glass (leading the Prosecution to fantasize that the window had been broken from inside), and climbed in.
Meredith returned home unexpectedly. Nobody can ever know exactly what happened, but clearly Meredith confronted Guede, there was some sort of scuffle. Guede held his hand over Meredith's mouth (according to the bruise patterns). Gued assaulted and murdered Meredith - the witness to his burglary.
The next morning, Guede fled to Germany, where he was later arrested.

Alba ...
At what point has ANYONE suggested that they don't care about the victim?
That's a really appalling thing to say.
Surely you're not saying that Meredith's tragic memory is best served by her innocent flatmate spending her life in prison ????????
The only person who truly did not care about Merdith's memory was the Italian prosecutor, Gulio Mignini.
Guede confessed to his part in the murder. But Mignini agreed to a lenient sentence (just 16 years) if he would plead guilty, and help frame Amanda.
Guede plunged a knife into Meredith's throat. With good behaviour, he will be free in 8 years!!!
If you want someone who didn't care a fig about Meredith ... I give you, Prosecutor Gulio Mignini.

I remember I saw the documentary about it JJ. If that is true then Meredith and her family have really been sold down the river - 8 years was it for Guede?
Surely there must be independent verifiable evidence from the phone company about what time their phones were switched off on the night in question?

The bra strap evidence ... LOL, LOL, LOL ... !!!!!
Wrong, flip ...
The "sex game" press conference was 3 weeks before the bra clasp was collected.
The Police entered Meredith's bedroom, and videoed their search.
The video shows the bra clasp on the floor.
It was not collected.
The room was, over the next 3 weeks, trampled by dozens of investigators.
3 weeks later, the bra clasp was collected from a different part of the room, by an officer who admitted that he had failed to wear sterile gloves, and who had also been handling items belonging to Amanda.
That bra clasp should have had more DNA on it than Amanda's pants.
But ... in fact ... it didn't.
The Prosecution had no real evidence, and they tried desperately to concoct a story about "DNA on the bra clasp". As ever, the world's tabloids lapped it up. In reality, it was a total fabrication. That evidence has been totally discredited during the Appeal.
But, as I say ... don't let the tabloids fool you into thinking the sex game theory came from the bra clasp. When Mignini held the notorious "sex game" press conference, he wasn't even aware of the existence of the bra clasp, because it had been left on the floor in Meredith's bedroom.
How "thorough" were those invertigators?

The case is far from over.
If the jury are intimidated into upholding the conviction, Amanda and Raffaele will appeal further.
The Prosecution have already said that they will also appeal if Raf and Amanda are freed.
I won't be "upset" if Raf and Amanda lose. I won't take it personally. But I will be staggered that a mediaeval system, where prosecutors can dream up Satanic fantasies, can still exist in 21st Century Europe.
It is like The Inquisition.
"There has been a crime. I need a witch. Ahaaaah ... the blue eyed American. She looks far too cheerful. Let's BURN HER!"
"But Prosecutor, there is no evidence against her."
"Ah, err, no. Well, then we must find some, because she is a Satanist!!!"
It's like something out of Monty Python. But, in Italy ... it really happens.
