Do you believe in sewer dwellers? This may change your mind

There is an open sewer where im from that comes up on the beach and a few weeks ago i was coming back from a party using the beach as a short cut when i heard an animal yelping like it was in pain.
I walked towards the noise and was amazed to see what appeared to be a young boy with some fencing wire wrapped around his leg where he twisted it on harder whilst trying to get away. The boy was completely naked, dirty and had odd rat like features, almost non human looking and with sharp teeth, ive never seen anything like it in my life. I helped him remove the wire buy he must've broken his ankle as he couldn't walk. I asked him how it happened, where is his family and where does he live but all i got was wide eyed bewilderment and grunts. At some point i heard a noise coming from the sewer and a group of naked adults emerged all with similar features, naked and dirty and they seemed scared and was communicating with the boy through grunts, whistles and other animal sounds. I laid the boy on the floor and the adults came and carried him off to the sewers, one came back and pressed what appeared to be a diamond in my hand before hobbling off towards the sewers. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a community of mutant sewer dwellers below us, does anyone know or has heard of this before?

I appreciate that this does indeed sound a little far fetched but in my area there have been many eerie reports of weird footprints in the sand, weird half human howling and of people being followed, the feeling of being watched and the thefts of food through open windows, doors and catflaps etc..
These all made no sense before i seen these creatures.
