Gross - I bet they've given 0.0001% of their income, I bet the poor who give, give a hell of a lot more!
Yes would be interesting to know just how generous they had been.
it made me laugh (not the whole people dying every six minutes thing, but the sentiment behind it)
and what about our own homeless, hungry, poverty stricken, elderly, sick & vulnerable people in not so 'Great' Britain ??? We need help here first....we do enough for every other country...
Purple - can't we do both? I do a few small monthly donations to appeals like this, I don't think it should be one or the other?
I only saw the beginning, as when they suggested that I should turn over or go and make a cup of tea, I took their advice.

Yes this was not a party political broadcast, but simply an appeal for East Africa, by our 'Liberal Prime Minister', which was closely followed by a similar appeal by I believe, the Red Cross.

What next an appeal for aid to Palestine, by the Labour Party?

The Jewish/Israel Lobby is highly influencial in the Labour Party, so raising money for the Palestinians is unlikely. The Millibands were Jewish immmigrants.
