@OG - not really a question to be honest :) I am just staggered at the rate of growth of the global population, and one has to question the sustainability going forward :)
And look at the reaction against the Chinese who went for birth control - but then it has distorted the natural balaance of the population - isn't it something like 113 males to 100 women - and that doesnt auger well in the medium term......
I think the criticism folk had with the Chinese solution was the way they went about it. Instead of encouragement it was imposition. And whilst I'm no expert on their solution I have read it wasn't applied to everyone the same. For many it would be too much State interference in personal affairs, too little help and encouragement to do the right thing for the benefit of all, for them to approve.
The one thing the world has missed in the past few years are a world war and a plague. In the past god or whoever kept a lid on the population by introducing the 1st and 2nd world wars. These had followed the black death of the 14th century.
Maybe the 22nd December 2012 is when it all goes back to the level of population it should be. Things will balance itself up and the survivors can all start copulating again safely.
I cant see how the global population can be accurate, because children are born in the world that are never registered, especially in India and some of the poor Asian Country's, so it could be a lot more!
