Are Slendertone systems any good for sustained weight loss?

I am aware that this post may have been listed before but I need to know the answer to this for sure. I would like to know if Slendertone systems are any good for weight loss as am thinking of buying one. I am, as you all know, currently between jobs and have to watch every penny I spend. I can not afford to join a gym as do not have the time and money for this, and would like to know a cheaper alternative.

Have any of you ever used these Slendertones and is there a cheaper way of buying them other than from the manufacturer?

No. They won`t make you lose weight at all. They`re designed to tone muscles, not lose fat. A friend of mine had one although it was a different brand, not Slendertone. She said it toned her arms but I must have got a low pain threshold because I tried putting the pads on my abdomen. It was flipping agony! The best way to lose weight is by diet but if you want to exercise, there are plenty of things you can do that are cheap. Brisk walking, jogging, cycling etc. You don`t have to join a gym.

What they don't tell you is that if you buy one, you need to keep buying more of the gel pads that conduct the current - or take a chance and add water to the ones you have - because they dry out with use.
But they don't make you weigh less or get thinner, just scrunch a small muscle group in and out.

Great product, have been using for a few weeks now and have been recommending to all my friends already! Really does give your abs a good workout. I've been using this along with taking out junk food from my diet and walking more and in the last 10 weeks have lost 10lbs and 2 inches off my waist.
