How much longer are the authorities prepared to play the 'softly, softly' approach, with these protesters?
They have made their point, the time as now come to say goodbye to this lot.

Just take a look at virtually every town in this once sparkling-clean country of ours on any day or night of the week.
If Cornwall is anything to go by, the situation in the country will worsen too if other Councils follow Cornwall's lead - the Council here are thinking of closing down the public conveniences......

DT, i know about how filthy London has become, and it's not just the residents, but plenty of tourists passing through, who also contribute to the mess. Sadly lots of fast food outlets should share some of the blame, and anyone dumping litter should be an instant find, but you have to have staff to enforce it? Public toilets are in short supply here, and sadly i do know, as often having to stop to find one. I eventually found one, not far from where the protesters are camped out, caught short as it were, and not only was it difficult to find, but charged 50p for the privilege.
em it is a shame - also the same in the countryside, the state of the lanes around here are appalling and, in my travels around the country, it's the same in Hampshire, Surrey, Oxfordshire, Cumbria, Cambridgeshire - litter everywhere and a lot of it plastic......there is a lack of civic pride which is worrisome, coupled with council budget cuts and tightening waste regulations that lead to fly-tipping and all the rest - and which does our image to tourists (12% of GDP) not much good.....and potential damage.
The capital won't know what's hit it next year, Olympics and The Queens diamond jubilee, there will be so many more people here, i seriously doubt that it will cope. And suggest that anyone looking for a Lav, better have a sat nav, or should that be sat lav, as the only ones I know, are often too gross to use.
