On show here is a picture attributed to AB's seadogg. An artist of prolific capacity he has largely focused on seascapes during his long and illustrious career, drawing an unparalleled look at motion of sea, wind and wave.

This picture, rendered in acrylic, depicts his thoughts on a windy, stormy day on the coast. A moody painting reflecting his inner turmoil, his long contemplation periods at sea, the upheaval of being away from home. The rocks in the foreground provide a stability to his life, the swirl and passage of the foam to the receding, arched horizon, a manifestation of his numerous passages at sea, away from his beloved family on AB

An artist of considerable talent, his work,m such as in this painting, reflects his desolation, a truly contemporary and unique expression of his rescue career.

The painting in acrylic is painted on seawater-treated canvas, the brushes of a fine Dulux version. Seadogg is a member of the RSABA (Royal Soc of AB Artists) and has exhibited in many fine galleries in Croydon, South Shields, Peterhead, Brixton and on Weston-super-Mare Pier.

I think what a lot of people tend to forget about these works, is that they're largely bought as an investment. The buyer will probably keep it a few years and sell it for eight million :o)))

Exactly the Builder and probably bought by someone else who claims to see something that's just not there. The Emperor's New Clothes mentioned earlier is a good analogy.

Isn't it all about 'name' and reputation? If your work is known,and you develop a reputation-then that's when buyers are willing to pay out. Obviously this photographer-whoever he is-has done just so.
I would not have bought any works by Tracy Emin when she was a struggling art student...but if I had paid out 50 quid then, I'd be laughing now. It would be money in the bank.

It's not a con though. Someone obviously thought it was worth the money. Actually at least 2 people, otherwise it would never have reached that price.

The guy who bought it was quite unlucky to have another multi-millionaire bidding against him, otherwise he could have got it for about fifty quid.
Still, if he could have got it for that, I bet he wouldn't have wanted it.
