Anne - but very grateful of them when your life may be at stake one day no doubt. Why do wish to deny public servants the pension they signed up for?

I've not had a pay rise in 3 going on 4 years either but the cost of living has increased. Anyway, I've said my bit, no need for me to explain my reasons or debate it any further. I'm neither selfish or greedy and neither are the hundreds of thousands of people who have no choice but to make their feelings shown on 30th November. Support us.

I lost a lot of my pension too due to incompetence of my employer ....... but thats a long story best forgotten. We pensioners could also rage about the extremely low interest rates for the past few years causing us to live off our precious savings we have worked hard for all our lives.

well I'll have to find £80-100 a month extra for my (much delayed) pension from April, perhaps someone has an idea of how I could find that?

Overpaid and over the years many have exploited sick pay for years.How often have you heard someone from the public sector saying theyve got so mnay sick days to take ? I think they are taking a great risk striking. There are plenty of unemployed to fill their jobs if they dont like it why not go to the private sector ?The country is a hairs breadth away from a recession because of trouble in the eurozone.Look at the cuts there that workers are facing.If we hit a recession then there will be deeper and more scathing cuts for sure.Watch and see.

As a public sector worker I am sick and tired of the pathetic comments from some who say "go and get a propor job" and that we are lazy workers who "sit behind desks sipping coffee". I am NOT going on strike as I don't want to lose a days pay. Many of my colleagues have left the service recently on voluntary redundancy and at the moment I am doing the work of 3 people at the moment. I'm lucky if I get a lunch break these days. I come home tired and I'm usually in bed by 10pm so if you think I'm a lazy, coffee sipping layabout then think again!!!

They're not selfish but I do consider them lucky.... I can't actually afford to make payments to a pension scheme so I don't have one to gripe about. I work for the public sector, my job is very far from easy and I actually run two specialist services now, (note 'run' not 'manage' there's a big difference). I'm not going on strike because the pension stuff just doesn't effect me but I can see why they're angry. When they start striking about the re-grading of jobs, the lack of pay increase for some time and the fact that a lot of us do the work load of two or more people, then I'll be grabbing my coat and placard.
