Planning (or 'thinking time' as the Mail mischeviously calls it is essential. It is not skiving. I suspect that the people in charge at the Mail are on more than £200K. Perhaps they should take some thinking time and they might produce a better newspaper.

I've just checked the council's website and the Mail seem to have inflated his salary by £15,000. He is actually on £185K.
If I can check such publicly available information, why can't an overpaid Mail hack? They ride a fine line between lies and sloppy journalism.

So, basically you think that if someone is working for the good of the community, they should earn less?

He is overpaid and I'm sure there are many other suitable candidates that could do a better job for a lot less money. orgainisations in the private sector an pay what they like to their staff, because THEY pay for it. When the money comes from the public, they expect it to spent on services and front line staff. Not huge salaries for managers.
