Not always just the Libdems Kayless.
Booting out Clegg would trigger a general election. The Tories have been trailing in the polls for the last 12 months. Disaffected LibDems are more likely to switch back to Labour than vote Conservative.

So No, Clegg will not be booted out, you are stuck with him if you want to cling onto power.

apparently he has 62% approval: http://www.dailymail....U-treaty-changes.html
Don't get me wrong. I would be very pleased to see Clegg booted out and a General Election to be triggered.

But even Cameron is not that daft.
Considering the response from the general public regarding the recent EU events I think the tories would actually win a general election if one was called now.
I really don't think it matters who runs the UK any more, because what Cameron has achieved in a single stroke is to make the UK irrelevant as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

only the natuarlly anti British think that rojash.

When people are asked what is important when they vote, the EU is very far down the list of what people think important.

http://www.general-el...general-election.html
Telegraph last weekend had Cons at 36, Labour at 32 and Libs at 14%

It is just one poll now.

Also what has happened is just positioning to a long drawn out negotiation and DC/NC are playing an image to their more conservative wings........they knew that this was likely. Wait and see what happens over the next 2 months esp if the Euro falls off a cliff.

I agree with Craft. Who in their right minds would want a Labour government again after the mess they got us all into?
Are you sure about that Gromit. I am constantly surprised by the anti-euro feelings held by the public at large. People who usually have no interest in politics are vehemently opposed to closer links with Europe.

People who want to keep their jobs?
Gromit. Didn't their tenure cause the cutbacks?
Question Author
yeah, paying a billion a month to the corrupt EU gravy train really helps jobs! People moan about the Olympics but we pay 1.5 Olympics a year to the most anti British Entity in History, and all the EUphiles wonder why the public are chuffed when the PM tells them to s0d off for once!
craft1948

// So, in summary, the British public are generally hostile towards the EU if asked, but will tend to favour renegotiation or repatriation of powers over withdrawal if given the choice. Secondly, while it has been regarded as an important issue in the past, only a tiny minority particularly care about the issue at present. Thirdly, the Conservative party are seen as vastly less divided these days than during the years of arguing with each other over Europe, a unity that took a decade to reforge and which they would probably be well advised not to throw away lightly. //

No.

We have cutbacks because we had to loan the banks £1.162 trillion which we mostly had to borrow. We are making cutbacks to repay our debts.
I see people are still blaming Labour (the same as Cameron) for all the country's ills even though these twonks have been in power for some time now. Probably still be the same in another year's time !!
"only the natuarlly anti British think that rojash."

Don't be daft Kayless. As a Brit, I regret very much that the UK is on a downward path, but regretting something doesn't make it untrue.
"the PM tells them to s0d off for once!"
But he hasn't told them to sod off, he's told them that he no longer wants a say in how things are done. "Sulky kid in the playground" is the phrase that springs to mind.
