No. We are one of the biggest contributors to the EU we import more than we export and follow all directives - stupid or otherwise. As countries read the small print of the new proposals they will start wanting to renegotiate it - as we have done, so I believe we are now stronger in the EU if Cameron sticks to his guns and refuses to allow the Merkozy alliance to take over our Financial sector.

Brenden, as per another thread, Hungary and the Czech Republic have already said they do not want fiscal union on taxation and so forth, so DC is not a lone voice.

Even though the Chirac situation may be midly ironic, it has nothing to do with this. If the UK wanted to play petty, they could block the export of the Charlotte Bronte book that fetched £700k at auction today and is destined for a French library....and I do think we should do this anyway.
