I believe it also has a door, and some are to have conductors.
£330,000 each!!!!
happy days for bus builders too. I hope Brois is finding buyers for all the expensively bendy buses he rashly promised to get rid of. And I hope he's got more of the newer ones than of the bendy buses, because it appears they seat fewer people.
The new bus is built by Wrights in Northern Ireland.
Personally I am very glad to see the back of bendy buses. I thought they were a ridiculous idea.
one of the reasons for getting rid of the bendy buses was that people could hop in through the middle door without paying. But strangely, this feature is replicated in the new ones. They will go round corners in narrow London streets more easily; but the downside is they will carry fewer passengers and it will be harder for the disabled to find seats than on a one-level bus.
I used to love the old routemaster, spent many a trip home from school swinging out the end when turning a corner, can't see that bring allowed now, well, not that it was allowed then either.
For anyone interested in London' buses, past and present.
