Is this to be believed or is there more to these sackings?
In their defence the collage stated;
/// Professor Nye was dismissed from his post as Principal at the College following a period of suspension on full pay and an inquiry conducted by the College Chancellor.///
Although they failed to elaborate.
And regarding Mrs Nye's sacking;
/// Despite a waiting list for places on its English language courses, the college closed the department last month, leaving its two remaining tutors redundant at Christmas. ///
Professor Malory Nye and his wife are to take this case to an employment tribunal claiming racial and religious discrimination, and unfair dismissal, so we should know more then.

Possibly - but how are we to know?
The Mail and the Telegraph are reprinting all his allegations yet the college can't respond because of the ongoing legal action.
I wait with baited breath the result of the action - not too baited of course because I don't want to turn blue waiting for the Mail to print more details if it turns out he is at fault

// However, they believe their attempts at pushing it in a more cosmopolitan direction angered their superiors. Prof Nye said his suspension came just days after he changed the college’s name from the ‘Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic studies’. //
I would have thought that changing the college's name and direction would have to have approval from its Govenors and Patron.
Obviously Sheikh Al Maktoum pays a lot of money to keep the place running. To remove his name would have threatened the College's funding. That alone is clearly a sackable offence. Sounds like Professor Nye was assuming powers which were not in his employment contract.
When this couple were employed it would have been obvious they were white. So to claim that was the reason they were sacked is plain silly.

Well we can all speculate, but reading the comments so far it looks as if some have made up their minds who is at fault.
I don't suppose it has ever entered their heads that perhaps this time the "never can do any wrong Muslims" have in fact done wrong?
Perhaps you should read my post again and notice that I did not lay the blame at anyone's door, and it was only after the usual one-sided rhetoric that I have come to expect from some, that I have now added this additional comment, so as to balance things up a little more evenly.

Just looked up the Administrative Staff at the College. Going off the names, they sound as though most of them are white and British. Strange that these staff have not been sacked if the College are guilty of an anti-white and anti-British policy.

Name of the college changed from;
'Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic studies’.
to
'Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education'
Surely if the college claims to pursuing multicultural values, and is open to students of all races and religions, this is a much more suitable name, especially noting the fact that it still bears it's founder's name.

It's entered my head.
It's also entered my head that we won't know the truth until the result of the tribunal.
It's also entered my head that if the tribunal finds in favour of the sacked couple it will be headline news in the DM, whereas, if they find in favour of the college, it will almost certainly go unreported.

I'm surprised to hear that it's within the principal's brief to change the school's name.
As for your question "Is this to be believed?" - who knows? The couple seem to want to seek justice through the pages of the Daily Mail rather than wait for the tribunal hearing. The college itself has, properly, not made its reasons public. Perhaps it has more respect for the procedures of British justice than the former principal and his wife do.

/// The couple seem to want to seek justice through the pages of the Daily Mail rather than wait for the tribunal hearing.///
If you had took the trouble to read the report instead of hastily getting your usual Daily Mail rants over, you would not have failed to notice that Prof Nye was talking to the Telegraph.
/// Prof Nye told the Telegraph: 'It is clear to me that there is collusion between these two individuals that I should be removed from my position on the basis that I am not an Arab and not a Muslim and that the person who has the role of principal should be Arab and/or Muslim.///

That is yet another totally untrue statement from a member of the 'Anti Daly Mail Brigade'.
You and others are always ready to call not only myself but also the Daily Mail 'racist', but that is completely wrong because the Daily Mail will certainly report both sides of a story, just as I do if the need arises.
It is only the 'Left' that are systematically one-sided.

/// Just curious - why do you wear a black tophat in your avatar, AOG...?///
Well I will try and educate you, the caricature John Bull, traditionally wears a black top hat, that cannot be altered even in these PC days.
Since you are always ready to back-up certain other's comments, rather than construct ones of your own.
I might equally ask, why did you choose a sheep for you're Avatar?
But then I already know the answer to that one, so don't bother.

So as a "right" then, AOG, are you also a:
* top or a bottom
* wet or dry
* misogynist or philogynist
* racist or humanist
* aetheist or deist
* militarist or pacifist
* conservative or EDL or Fascist?
Thank in advance for the clarification.

You obviously did not read last night's (Venator's) thread on Avatar and name origin.

I would have thought my very name here on AB gave away my politics though I am to the centrist/pro European end of the spectrum. The sheep reflect the very area I came from within the UK (and not New Zealand or Oz).....Now kindly answer my last comment in return.
