If we look back fifty years, the UK was glad to invite Jamaican people here, to drive our trains and buses and so on, after the war. We invited them, let's not forget that.

We didn't have a crystal ball to show that these industries would die, leaving so many to live on benefits.

Neither were these immigrants treated very well by us.
