Clearly Iran's decision to sentence him to death is a political one. I am sure the White House will want to respond to this. Could it raise tensions to an even greater level between the U.S and Iran? Media URL: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204124204577150093452170330.html

Tensions are certainly mounting after Iran told the US not to return to the Straits of Hormuz with it's aircraft carrier group.
Fuelled with the recent sabre-rattling missile testing exercises in the Straits it's reasonable to assume that this will escalate matters further. Whether that will be speeded up by the supposed return of the John C Stennis remains to be seen.
