aches and pains...35 weeks
hey, just after a bit of advice or if someone has experienced this before
im 35 weeks today, booked in for c-section at 39 weeks. last night i started getting back ache but i could deal with the pain but since this morning the pain in my back has got worse, its constantly there. i have also been gettin sharp stabbing pains in my stomach that also come and go. belly has tightened a few times today that were joined with a sharp pain :( i cannot time anything because its all over the place, i thought about brax hicks but really this much pain?! this is my 2nd pregnancy and ill be honest the pain is bad but nowhere near as bad as when i went into labour with my 1st...mind u i was 7cm dilated when i got to hospital...i know i should ring hosp but i really dont want to miss my little mans 1st day at nursery tomorrow :(( any tips or advice thanks xxx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I had backache all the way through labour - the baby's spine was lying along my spine as it were - she came out face up instead of face down which I understand is more normal. So it could be that the same thing is happening with you, you and baby are back to back! I would suggest you get in touch with your doctor/midwife or at least contact NHS direct. The first signs that my labour was starting was backache.......
What did they say was causing it the last time lsharp?
Mine were both back to back too and ended up with an emergency section the first time and an elective the second - the pain might just be because the baby has moved down and is putting more pressure on your back. I never had any braxton hicks, but I believe they are more painful if the baby is back to back the same as normal contractions are.

I felt the same thing with my first daughter and it turned out to be back labor. It is very much worse than regular labor. Did you have sex then your back hurts? Sometimes that contributed to my back pain. But the night I actually went into labor I had the back pain before sex and it didn't go away and my daughter was born in the morning. Take a warm bath. If that doesn't make it go away you could be going into labor. I also had to hang on the rail on my side like the girl above me!!! Funny...
