Serious question about Daily Mail readers and gays...
And this is IN NO WAY a rant at Daily Mail readers, but a genuine question.
Have a look at this link about Neil Patrick Harris and his partner. They've done some (what I would call) genuinely beautiful shots for out.com:
http://www.dailymail....nce-open-romance.html
Now...spool down to the comments section and sort the comments check out what gets a positive rating and what gets a negative rating.
My question is simple - what do Daily Mail readers of this story have a problem with? I mean - almost exclusively, anyone who has written something nice or positive gets 'red arrowed'.
Is it homophobia or something more complex?

But it's probably clouded by the fact that I think the pictures are cringey because they're so posed and artificial and I don't happen to think that's what love looks like. Albeit in a very different context, it reminds me a little bit of that awful photo that Cameron had taken of himself and his wife a couple years ago. But outside of my personal opinions, all that is absolutely fine if that's what you want - as it quite openly is in the case of a wedding photo - but to say that you're then not interested in that image when you've had the photos done in the first place is a little silly (as this couple - and, come to think of it, the Camerons - both did).
I should also probably say that the reason I decided to contribute to this thread (it's not on something that particularly interests me), is that as an openly gay ABer I'd like to do something to discredit the idea that subliminal homophobia is present in this case. It does come up an awful lot - especially among Mail readers - but I'm not convinced this case qualifies.

I have a HUGE problem when people say that gay people 'flaunt their sexuality'.
They wouldn't say that about a straight couple, and it infuriates me when they lie and say they would.
They are being hypoc...
No screw it - they're liars.
Nobody in the whole world would look at those pictures and say that 'they're flaunting their sexuality' if it were a straight couple.
naomi24 even went on to say that people's sex live should remain private.
What the **** Is all THAT about???
Where in the photos or associated article is any reference made to their sex lives?
It may be my fault...perhaps I've entered a period of my life where I won't countenance I'll-thought out ideas.

sp, when are you going to stop insulting me? Or aren't you? Or will you make another fallacious claim that it was a joke as soon as someone else objects to your appalling rudeness? You really do make it up as you go along, don't you. Just as you did on the other thread when you claimed a gay magazine had confirmed a Daily Mail story that, as far as I'm aware, is still unconfirmed.
Read what I said. //I don't appreciate anyone - male or female - gay or straight - flaunting their sexuality.//
If, let's say, Jordan and her latest man of the moment released similar pictures to the media, yes I would say they were flaunting their sexuality. The only difference is they aren't hypocritical enough to do it and then claim they don't want to become objects of particular interest. So now where is your argument that I wouldn't say it about a straight couple? I've said it.
And yes, I do think people should keep their sex lives private. If they don't they have only themselves to blame if their much sought after publicity genders a negative response, and therefore they have no cause for complaint. Contrary to what you appear to believe, gays, just like anyone else, sometimes leave themselves open to criticism - and if you can't see that, in addition to that massive chip on your shoulder, you really do, as you say, have a HUGE problem. Get over yourself!!

Oh for goodness sake - WHERE HAVE THEY SPOKEN ABOUT THEIR SEX LIVES?
You're not only prudish, but you imagine things too.
I absolutely do not believe that pictures of that nature are in any 'flaunting their sexuality'. They are flaunting their happiness.
If you think they're flaunting their sexuality, then you are a weird , weird, weird prude.
