I can't work out whether I'm shocked or unsurprised by this number!

Does this amount of migrants claiming benefits raise cause for concern?

Doesn't surprise me at all. There was a bit on the radio this morning about Lithuanians coming in and setting up as Big Issue sellers, which apparently entitles them to housing benefit, as well.
i was listening to the news early this morning, and wondered if whoever they are, legit or otherwise have no problems, why is it so effin difficult for others who have contributed all their lives, and yet struggle on...

What's wrong with our benefit system that it only attracts 370 foreign claimants?

oops - should read 370,000
according to the latest news, 5,000 are on benefits they are not entitled to, i bet you that is well on the light side, and wouldn't you wonder that those who get this are taking money away from people who do need it.
I thought that the whole point of having migrants was that they actually bring something to our economy not take from it
Also, initially when half that number claimed they were migrants but have since become British citizens. Um, why on earth would they be granted citizenship when they are claiming benefits???
Mr Grayling said >>

"We will root out those claimants who cannot prove their immigration
status and in turn they will be stripped of their benefits.

"I was shocked to discover that the current system does not record
the nationality of benefit claimants and we are urgently taking steps
to make sure we know exactly how many non-UK nationals are
claiming UK benefits." <<

is this the same mr grayling that was ordered to pay back all that money

i was shocked that an mp who claimed as much as he could till he got caught would be shocked over this

Chris Grayling - all that money? I don't think £136 is all that much... get your facts right.

he has probably had to fiddle that money into his next claim
Dr Filth - he could probably sue over this -

"i was shocked that an mp who claimed as much as he could till he got caught would be shocked over this"

Perhaps a retraction is appropriate?
