Noticing that no one on the news section has yet bothered to congratulate these brave six injured British servicemen, I will now had my congratulations.

Congratulations chaps, you are a credit to our nation, we often hear of footballers and Olympic sportsmen and women etc, being given the name of national heroes, but you chaps are indeed true brave heroes, who have overcome your horrible injuries to row those 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

May you now go through life, with the same strength and determination that you found to carry out this mammoth task.

Will other ABers now please add your own thoughts and maybe words of congratulations?

It took an effort as huge as this to rehabilitate and help get these hero's back in the same room psychologically speaking. Hero's indeed, each and everyone of them. Good luck and best wishes to all involved.

More than happy to add my congratulations and admiration.

Just a shame that servicemen have to rely on charity to fund some of their care and rehabilitation while we throw money away to other countries or watch someone get a bonus just short of what these heroes have raised with their incredible endeavour.

They have put many able bodied men to shame. They needed guts and determination to go through such discomfort and how they managed to go without drinking water in the overbearing heat for so long mystifies me.

No doubt with the honours being dished out next time they will head the list.

It matters not if they actually see this, because all your congratulations and best wishes go to show the overwhelming feelings of the nation.

And yes I agree they should be on the top of the Queen's jubilee honours list.

Also agree with Philtaz's comment regarding our service men & women having to rely on charity, it was interesting to note however that an American based charity are building a accommodation complex (near to the hospital in Birmingham that treats injured service personnel), so that the families can be near to their injured relatives.

So THAT'S what that story was about. I saw the news clip whilst on the treadmill at the gym, and with my iPod playing, I couldn't work out what was going on.

For an able bodied person to do this is a feat, but for amputees - bloody astonishing.

Incidentally - on another matter, I've just been back from the States and found that service personnel are given preferential treatment on many airline flights (first class passengers, business class and servicemen and women are allowed to board before economy travellers.

It would be nice for airlines to introduce the same here - It's a zero cost option which is still a nice gesture.

Agree sp, there is much that the various outlets could do for our military.

Entertainment, travel, etc. I do believe, that in the US if a service person walks into a bar, they never have to buy a drink all night.
