IMO gay people are PEOPLE like u & me... And PEOPLE have the right to marry no matter who the kiss or fall in love with.

The trouble with religion trying to impose its views onto human sexuality, a sexuality that has an enormous range of gradated colour between the all male and all female stereotypes. Just read Brain Sex or Men are from Mars and Women fromVenus to have a better appreciation and realise how out of touch the religious folk are.
The problem is that when they wrote their tomes, they had no understanding of psychology or genetics.
Live and let live, and each unto our own, when it comes to this. Why should I criticise you for your sexual preferences and what "turns you on" - just as I do not expect to be criticise or worse villified by so-called "do-gooders" or moralists.
There are, however, some limitations to that and these involve traversing the boundaries of societal norms such as paedophilia etc.

Who put you or your church in charge of who I or anyone else want to marry Grasscarp? I'm not gay but if I were, I'd be damned if you or anyone else would tell me who I could or could not marry. You simply don't own the concept of marriage since it is older than your religion, so it's not morally right that you try to.
Because tinkerbell, the definition - in dictionaries (and the bible) is "the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law"
So two people of the same sex cannot, by the current definition of what marriage is, get married.

Well the practice of marriage only changed to being universally heterosexual AFTER the rise of Chritianity, before that same sex unions were common throughout the classical world and are well documented, so again I ask you Grasscarp, what gives your religion the right to say who gets married and who doesn't ( and also alter what is accepted as marriage as well for that matter)?
Quite a few assumptions about me in your post Nox. I never mentioned religion at all. I was going by the dictionary definition of the word marriage. Please dont read too much into the sentence I wrote. It is not my definition - merely how things stand at the moment. I have neither the power nor the desire to tell anybody what they can or cant do.
Lets be clear here, marriage is a civil contract and that civil contract can be signed in a hotel now, a registry office,a church or wherever. A marriage service is a religious blessing/endorsement of the relationship but it has no legal founding....only the signature of the documentation.
On the continent like in France or Belgium, the civil service occurs first - in the town/city hall and then the religious service takes place.....

There's an interesting division of opinion amongst our gay friends about this.
Just as some feminists argue the whole marriage business - as currently defined - is about the opressive reduction of women to chattels and the denial of their property rights, so gay marriage is about conforming to straight stereotypes of what legitimises relationships. Both arguments conclude that they're having none of it.

No assumptions about you at all Grasscarp, I don't know what religion you are if any, you are merely arguing a null point though. Many European countries have same sex marriages NOW, you're idea of ' definition' in dictionaries is a very small one indeed relating only to a few English dictionaries, and with regard to this subject mainstream religion ALWAYS figures in it, as no-one else would have an axe to grind about who married who. this hatred for the idea of same sex marriage stems from w3hat is percieved to be socially acceptable which is fundamentally laid down by mainstream religion, so they can keep everyone nice and under their control.
