I am trying to sell my boyfriends old iphone. How do i know if the phone is locked to O2 (his old network) or unlocked. The buyer only wants unlocked phones. I have switched the phone on with his old O2 sim in and it shows the itunes symbol with a sign to plug the phone in to charge. When i put my mobile sim in (which is with 3 network) it does exactly the same. Does this mean it is unlocked?
Please help technical wizards! :-)

if its not you can easily jailbreak it then it will take any network sim.. google iphone jailbreaking
It's not as easy as fender suggests. Best thing to do would be to contact O2. Best to go in branch for speed. They will ask for imei number. They would tell you very quickly. Any ways if it's not and you pay to have it unlocked. You will receive step by step instructions. It really is very straight forward.
