What are Argentina upto?...British nuclear submarines have patrolled the South Atlantic, for many years..

Now they complain about HMS Dauntless being deployed to the area, and any submarines with "nuclear" capacity..

Are they trying to "level the playing field",as a precursor to a possible assault on the Falklands?

"The concept of "owning" land is puerile and should be consigned to where it belongs, viz. the playground. "

Oh well, I won't buy any bedding plants for my garden this spring, then !!!
Peashaq, I'm sure that you have a well thought out alternative to land ownership, please enlighten us.
aog: yes, that wouldn't be an unreasonable line to take. But it's not only about money. People die in wars. Would you be prepared to die for the Falklands, or to have family members die? My own feeling is that I'd have been ready to do so in WW2 in defence of Britain - but not now in defence of South Atlantic islands. Others may disagree.
jno

So it now not about money but distance.

How far to where you are, would the threat of invasion have to be before you were prepared to defend?

Would you be prepared to fight to defend London, if you lived in the Outer Hebrides for example?
