Ah, the start of a civilised discourse...
this subject has been posted a number of times, i don't think he is an idiot, but is left in the political arena. Perhaps he is in collusion with Barack Obama to negotiate oil deals with Argentina if they are ever able to regain the Falklands, which is very unlikely. He should shut up though, America was a colonial power once, and still gets involved in conflicts it shouldn't, so he should remember that much at least.
Pushy American telling us what to do, perhaps the Queen or better still Prince Philip would like to make a comment, I am sure Phil would make mincemeat of the actor.
He should stick to reading his lines straight from an autocue...
Whilst I really don't care if the UK owns them or Argentina, I do care about someone as brain dead as Sean Penn slinging his ( very limited, granted) weight about and trying to tell anyone what they should and shouldn't do.
For a man with such noteable errors of judgement as:-
a. Marrying Madonna
b. Taking coke and alcohol til he was even higher than his own self important morals.
c. Guest starring Friends and Ellen
and finally
d. Growing that ludicrous moustache
You'd think he'd realise that as far as his brianpower is concerned the wheel's spinning but the Hamster's dead.
D1ck.
D9 you asked the same before, as have others.

em10 ....err and your point is??
Why are you bothered what a cr@p actor says anyway?
Whilst I don't agree with his views, calling him a prat and idiot is not a good basis for a solid counter attack in the argument.

There is no constructive argument prudie, it's like if I claimed your sofa as my own.
I would suggest that the British assure the Argentinians that should any of their countrymen require rescuing from the South Atlantic seas, we will not send any of our S&R helicopter teams for fear of further insulting them.
So tell me - is everyone who holds an opinion not in accordance with your view of the world "a prat"?
Question Author
Only when there is no actual valid debate to be had, see my answer to prudie above. It's like me claiming your sofa, you throwing me off then me trying to open "negotiations" about the sofa when I have no claim over your sofa in fact your sofa was yours long before I was born. Then I think pratt is the correct term as there is nothing to discuss.
if there is nothing to discuss, why do you keep opening threads on the same subject? You're sounding quite defensive to me... like a man who has no proof whatever that he owns 'his' sofa and is trying to distract everyone by standing in the street and shouting...
I agree with em10 - set Prince Philip on him !! Ha ha ha ha
Question Author
Yes jno, fair enough, I suppose it does iritate me when brainless idiots, who have had the good fortune to become rich and famous, think that that somehow gives validity to their incoherant ramblings.
Perish the thought he might want to do a "Ronald Reagan" - president of the USA.
>>> I really don't care if the UK owns them or Argentina<<<
NOX, are you really saying that the 255 Military Personnel (UK) killed in 1982 keeping The Falklands British don't count for anything in your opinion?
-- answer removed --
Penn is far from being a 'prat'.

He is a talented and renowned actor and director - his wealth and fame have little to do with 'luck' more to do with talent and hard work.

After the 2010 Haiti earthquake Penn co-founded the J/P Haitian Relief Organization and has been running a 55,000 person tent camp.

He is currently Ambassador-at-Large for Haiti, the first time that a non-Haitian citizen has been designated as such and that is one reason he is touring latin america.

I suspect he has irish ancestry and as an irish-american not surprisingly tends toward anti-british sentiments.

It is also not surprising that while cosying up to latin american leaders he refers to Malvinas.

The fact that we might vehemently disagree with his views and reject his opinion does not negate his right to express them and doesn't justify silly name calling.

If we decide that only 'prats' would side with Argentina on this matter we might get a rude shock.
