Celebrity Deaths
91 Answers
I'm watching a program about Whitney Houston and just realised that it was two years ago on the same day that Alexander McQueen died. It got me thinking about celebrities and how much people (fans) mourn for their idols. I was devastated when I heard the news about McQueen but not so much for Whitney, just because I idolised him more.
Anyway, my question is, are any of you a big enough fan of any celebrity to be completely devastated by their death? Or have you been before?

I can think it's sad that someone has died and also think that it's a loss if that person is particularly knowledgable or talented.
The last time I was moved to tears that a celebrity had died was when they announced (on going live I think, damn I'm old!) that Roald Dahl had died. I adored his books and it made me very sad to think that there would never be a new book from him, I even went and woke my parents up to tell them (which they were delighted about). He was a very large part of my childhood (was one of them bookish children) and even then I didn't feel anything close to devastation.
