With the knowledge that 73 per cent of the British public believe that the war in Afghanistan can't be won, (which incidentally is up from 60 per cent last June), what do ABers think Cameron will come away with, from his Washington trip to see Obama?

a sore tail from all the wagging
A brown nose.
A vague feeling that he shouldn't have called the yanks 'septics' without checking for the hidden microphone ...
Public opinion has been against the war in Afghanistan for several years, so the latest opinion polls make very little difference.

Here is AOG from 2006

// our own involvements in Afghanistan gets very little if any coverage? Is it because if we acutely knew the full extent of what is happening in these hell holes, then public opinion would be much stronger, to get the hell out? //

How the eck did you find that from 6 years ago?

You must hang on to my every word. :0)

But I wonder what the percentage figure of public opinion was then?
Probably 90% in favour. Weren't we told it would be all over by Christmas?

By the way, do the Lily Beetles keep returning? I too love Lillies and have to be very vigilante every year.

Yes I realise that but one has still to trawl through, (in my case) 3125 questions to come up with the appropriate one, providing of course one can remember where a particular post is situated, and also what one has commented on in the past.
You are rather consistent AOG. You have been against our involvement in Afghanistan for a long while. Didn't you have some relative sent there or have I mis-remember that bit/

We didn't have to wait long for you annual 'Why is there a Black Police Association?' question, the first being posted August 2006.

I give up with you, one cannot enter into a reasonable polite and inoffensive discussion with you, without the need for you to turn it into some kind of 'I hate AOG', so let's add derogative and sarcastic remarks against him, campaign.

There is no need for it, so why do you do it?
Probably a cheque for appearing on The Simpsons
AOG

I apologise if it reads like that, but it was definitely meant as jocular and friendly.

The Black Police Association reference was an observation rather than a criticism.

Seriously, I didn't mean to upset you AOG.
AOG, Gromit sounds like one to be settled in the car park after lunch !

I doubt Cameron is going to come away with anything. It is a simple political stunt for both side.
I'm amazed only 73% think it's unwinnable.
Been against it from day one, there is more of a terrorist threat lurking in our own towns and cities than Afghanistan.
404 British dead so far.
Waste of lives,time and money.

About time this country re-discovered it's nuts and told the yanks it's all a waste of time....Just like Vietnam.

Not particular upset Gromit, only disappointed that you cannot seem to debate on a level playing field, without finding the need to research past posts and make non appropriate comments.

The 'Black Police Association' reference was not associated with the thread, in any way whatsoever.

So I ask why the need?

'Jocular content tip' adding :0) saves any misunderstanding.
