To keep the Welsh under the thumb? To have a sheep cathedral?

I'm pushed to choose the least likely 'City', mainly because I don't know where all you b*ggers live ;) , but I did have a small titter at "The City of Goole"

Mind you my local Dorchester is as much a potential city as I am a 20 stone trucker.

Historically both St Asaph and Perth were regarded as cities so I have no problem there. But Chelmsford?

We lived in Milton Keynes in the early 90's - went back about five years ago and it has changed so much (and the price of the house that we owned has tripled!).

Must admire Craft's solidarity with her Yorkshire compatriots in Goole, although she may claim that it is Humberside and therefore not true Yorkshire.

To me, Perth ok - it was a city up to 75.

Then Reading re its size and University

Colchester, it's Roman history and perhaps, perhaps, Dorchester (but a wee bit small).

St Asaph - it's a village, except for my Welsh sheep cousins who seriously outnumber the Humans.

St Asaph has a cathedral. Whilst that is not the defining factor for city status it is still a good recommendation.

mike I used to debt collect in Goole.................as I say it's er not nice and has a lot of big dogs.

I live in Goole and most of the people here think trying to get city status for it is a joke. Its nothing but charity shops and bookies. No cinema, shopping area, McDonalds etc.

I used to loive near St Asaph, it's a lovely little place, and the cathedral is stunning........so in fairness they deserve City status!...........

Lisburn and Newry were recently made cities. If they qualify then I honestly think a one sheep town in the far west of Wales should have no problems.
