best deal
10 Answers
Hi. Once again the dreaded car insurance raises it's ugly head. My insurance is due in a couple of weeks and my current insurer has increased my premium by £100 for no apparent reason ( no claims or accidents to date) so I am looking around for a cheaper deal using the search engines like go compare etc. So far the best deal I have been offered is with a company called Echoice, it looks ok but I have never heard of it and so I would welcome any input from any of you nice people who may have used or have any info of this company. Hope to hear soon. Thanks

SOG, I've found a thread on MSE that goes into detail about how the person paid twice because of some glitch on RSA's web site (just search google)
seems they are somehow connected to morethan - http://www.echoice.com/home
AND, the best bit IMO, you can buy via Topcash back

Yes, they are part of Royal and Sun Alliance who trade as MoreThan.
I have two cars insured with MoreThan and have never had any problems - after my one and only claim (many years ago!) I was not penalised in any way as the accident was not my fault.
At renewal the last two years, both premiums have actually reduced - I am paying 7% less than two years ago, so they are playing fair with me.
You could ring MoreThan on their Freephone number (I get through to Liverpool) and ask them to match their echoice quote.

I left Morethan several years ago because they refused to compete. They could not get anywhere near the one I enventually got from GoCompare. . Whatever one you choose check that they are licensed by the FSA. However, last time MoreThan contacted me again with a deal that nobody else could match. They were obviously losing too many customers. I have even signed up for their breakdown insurance which is much cheaper than the others on the market. They can also give you a two car deal if you need it.
SOG,
have used http://new.comparethemarket.com/ the past 9 months for Pet, Car and Home insurance.
Couldn't find anywhere cheaper but I always read the small print of conditions etc, plus you get a Meerkat free. Simples!!!!!

Same happened to me last year. I ended up with Liverpool Victoria. It's something to do with Frizzell who got a Which best buy recommendation I believe. The NFU are good, but expensive.
As for echoice. They're coming in for some criticism on money saving expert. The later postings are recent, so go to the end of the thread.

I'm just doing the same with home insurance and you have my sympathies.
Good luck.
