How long does the vomiting stage of strep throat last? am wondering whether to see gp. Symptoms: 24 hrs vomitting (now seems to be improving over past few hrs), very sore throat, intermittent low grade (37.8) fever. I done want to wate gp time if it's only a virus but don't want to leave if it's strep.

I didn't know that there WAS a vomiting stage of a strep sore throat.......!

As it is settling, then report back to us in the morning.

Yup squad vomitting nOt unusual.
I stand corrected, but i have never known vomiting to be a predominant feature of strep sore throat.......perhaps in children but even then not the predominant feature.

Monitor the situation after keeping up your fluid intake and taking ibuprofen 600mgms as and when necessary up to every six hours.
I was also unaware that vomiting was part of strep throat, when my son had it last year there was just sore throat, hideous rash from head to toe and aching joints.
My son had it recently. He felt sick, but no vomiting. The GP said it was important that he had antibiotics. He was very poorly with it, aching everywhere (including his eyes), high temperature, loss of appetite. He's normally a strong fit adult, but this knocked him for six for almost a week. I suggest you see your GP.
