assuming it was a mistake of course, and not a murder attempt.
The sticker on the knife is suspicious though... either implies an amateur left it on ... or it was concealed in a pocket and surrepticiously replaced in haste by the guilty person, and the sticker not noticed or cared about...

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.nox, not necessarily...most actors dont know their arse from elbow with props... if the knives were more or less identical except one was blunted and one sharpened, they would probably not notice, in the few seconds between him picking it up and using it... they would trust the props person to have the right one...as presumably there was never any need to have a sharp one.
i wouldnt put it past some desperate actor looking for a quick boost into the news etc to do something like this...but its a massive risk and could easily have gone wrong
