What gounds could there be for the government to oppose his bail application?
He's under such a level of scrutiny it's hardly likely he'd re offend.

If this govt are not very careful they are going to ensure that the ECHR hear his case and likely side with him, as he appears to being treated exceptionally, and justie needs to be seen to be even handed. Give him bail and start the process to get him gone if you wish but don't treat him exceptionally or you risk him being here for good.
