Imo you do not have to wear anything special to look a 'complete idiot' when morris dancing
gness

/// I really like you AOG. I married two of you! ///

That's strange I cannot remember. :0)
Well I for one can`t wait for Christmas and the debate on St. Nicholas.
Rowan :-]
AOG. I told you not to have that second G&T!
For those who are slow or already bear addled

It takes a complete pr1*k to be a Morris Dancer

St Nicholas ... and the Coca cola company their effect on Christmas imagery in not more than 3,000 words discuss
Yep, fun times ahead, i think gness.
The thing is he Nicholas, (Niklaas) was real, a Spanish bishop in the Netherlands, the issue was/is his side kick, St Peter der Schwarz, and they still celebrate both over there on Dec 5. Totally NOT ACCEPTABLE in these PC days.
gness, do you mean that elderly gent who hides behind a false beard and encourages strangers children to sit on his knee?
Well we have already discussed St Nicotine.
Saint Knickerless gets talked about a lot too
Don`t think 3,000 words will stump some Rowan and DT has given us a head start. Does he know EVERYTHING?
Yep.tony!!! fun times.
Rowan I pray to that Saint daily.
Oh. Heck Baldric. Now we`re really in for it.
My favourite saint, tony.
No gness, I lived over there for four years of my turgid life.....

I think I'll borrow jths' tin hat!
Rowan's knickerless, now there's a thought for lunchtime.

Hope Redman is around.
My Grandads favorite was St Bruno.
Tin hat! After reading DT`s link I`m booking a faraway holiday.
Christmas Island is supposed to be nice gness.
I was saddened to discover smokers are one of the few groups who have no patron saint (apart from St Bruno, obvs, which is just blatant marketing.

Per dt's earlier post about smoking dragons, do we infer from this story that St George was an early proponent of tough love?
