This third world-style food aid seems to have come more into the news of late ..... benefit cuts and low wages mean "Making ends meet" gets more and more difficult for many famillies.....
Do any of or would any of you use these charity food banks or would you feel too proud to visit one....or give food to one?
They look to be well organized and seem like a good idea but the fact that we need them at all in these modern times doesn't actually make one proud to be Briitish....
Any thoughts?

I read an article in my local paper about a rise in users of our local food bank. I went to the website to find out how I could make a donation, I couldn't believe what I found.
"Donations should be adequate to feed a family of 4-6 and should be for complete meals."
Surely a list of of store cupboard staples and some long lasting fresh produce would be a better way forward? At least then there is no problem with allergies, intolerance, dislikes etc. And it gives those in need a choice and allows them some dignity.
