Well, ABers, this is the last weekend before the greedy swine at the Royal Mail try to rip us all off. I'm interested in knowing how many of us intend to cut right back on our entries. I might have thought the newspapers who publish these xwords might have done some serious thinking and even decided that we could, say, fax our entries. But I have seen nothing and one gets to wonder if the aforesaid papers are in cahoots with the RM to make life as expensive for us as possible. Anyway, I'm cutting right back on my mailed entries and I'm wondering if a significant number of others on this website are planning to do the same.
A couple of ABers have contacted some of the newspapers and are awaiting responses about this, as with anything I guess it will tempered by the reason you send it in, if the prize is a worthwhile one you may decide to keep on, if yet another pen or dictionary identical to one you have, then maybe not.
i'll continue as normal, but if it proves too much, then i'll cut down.

i'm launching a postal quiz next month (watch out for it) the closing date will be in october so, there will be plenty of time and you can use second class stamps
Same as Georgiemum, I buy a hundred 1st and 2nd every so often, since they mentioned the price change I bought extra sheets, should have enough
to do me to after Christmas, (that is if I live that long ha! ha!) ah what a sad life I lead.
I still think post is cheap, but entry by e-mail would be the answer, the newspapers make nothing from postal entries, and someone has to open all the post and read it.
What really pi**es me off is that these RM execs cry poor-mouth but then pay themselves huge salaries and bonuses at the expense of humble xword-solvers like us. We're the people who keep these fat cats in the style to which they have become accustomed. Btw, I'm not a member of the Socialist Workers Party!!!
I don't do that many postal crosswords any more so probably will not change. I have started texting my entry to the Saturday i puzzle for less hassle although this may be costing me more than posting.
