For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.i worked at a shipping company in the east end of london, about a mile downstream of tower bridge. we had only small ships docking with us at our private wharf, but they all needed a pilot to guide them from southend to us in limehouse, as the water was shallow on the bends around dartford etc. i don't what draught an aircraft carrier has, but it must be dead risky trying to bring one of those up the thames.

firstly i wouldn't say there was a lot of room to spare, second i am not sure what the plans are.
