I knew someone who claimed to have 'the gift' but she would never take a penny from anyone she offered help to.. she said if you have it and use it for your own benefit it leaves you.... so by her reasoning anyone who charges for a 'psychic supper, a tarot reading or whatever is faking it' She was pretty good though I learned more about reading people from her than reading the cards.

I really have no time for so called celebrity mediums they are given the power to do so much damage.

New regulation was brought in, in 2007 I think, so that alleged clairvoyants and mediums would have to tell customers they are entertainers, and their methods are not scientifically proven. People still believe and look to them for guidance.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
It's time these charlatans were exposed as the money grubbing conmen they are.

These weirdos have always existed - it is the reaction of the press that has changed.
Example - in the 1940s a child was murdered in Blackburn, leading to the first mass fingerprinting exercise in the UK. Quite soon after the apprehension and execution of the murderer, two events: local press agreed to respect the family's privacy and not continue to publish the child's and family's name - the national press consequently lost interest and stopped pestering. Secondly, a few years after a 'psychic' claimed to be getting messages from the deceased child - this again was not reported on by the local press in order not to stoke prurient interest or inflate the sicko's ego.
Nowadays the Daily Scream would be beating his doors down with offers of cash.

That's fairly standard psychic talk (and in fact would seem not very remarkable to maybe a quarter of the world's population). There's no suggestion that souls have DNA, so he knows his claim will be genetically untestable.
