One in three Brits are racist....

I was a bit surprised at this poll as its not about racism, its about to many immigrants arriving in the UK to reap are generous benefits system that are supposedly for the people who have paid their taxes and National Insurance since leaving school, and not for every Tom, Dick and Harry from far flung Country's who have never put a penny in the pot!!!!!!

I look around me and wonder where the Britain and especially London that we grew up in went.

If I was answering a poll, these are my perceptions of our society as a member ofthe older generation - I don't think of myself as racist, though..
We have always had immigration in this country - Irish, Jamaican etc.
We have always had fiddlers and freeloaders in this country, home grown and imported!
Our traditional tolerance is being stretched to breaking point by the level of immigration in recent years and the press is feeding on it.
The Poles and Chinese have by and large come here to work and contribute to our economy, but a lot of East European and Asians have come here for our housing and benefits, and their birth rate is much higher than the national average.
Much of our crime associated with drugs, guns, prostitution and street violence is associated with immigrants.
How much of this would the average Brit agree with?

Of course the benefits bonanza is down to the EU - we could theoretically get benefits in Poland or Romania.
Cloud cuckoo land on stilts, the whole EU idea.
We should never have got sucked into it. We should pull out now, and reassess it in 20 years or so, when it may have become workable.
I bet 1 in 3 Brits would vote along these lines if given a referendum...

I feel better now - a good rant in the morning sets me up for the day.

Mick suggest it would be quite a dull one. This like for like benefit system, where one could get benefits in other EU countries, can someone tell me how that would work in places like Romania. If they are poor, and the people come here to supposedly work, why don't they stay in romania and if out of work, get the equivalent benefits there. No one seems to ever think of those who have slogged away here, put money aside for a rainy day, then having to spend that dosh when times are hard. If they get ill, or have to go into a nursing home. It an incentive not to work, rather than the other way around. My folks worked hard all their lives, but try squeezing an extra 10 bob out of the DWP you will be whistling for it.
some of the info on this is more than interesting, especially the employment part
