Wasn't she wonderful? Shes 87 you know. An inspiration to everyone with her diamonds and expensive dresses, Rolls Royce, race horses, butlers, garden parties, carriages, private jet etc. I'm inspired! Or am I?

well i am.
Naughty boy, of to the tower with you.
want to stack your working hours up against hers and see how they pan out, Clarion? You might find you don't really want the job swap after all!

(Shes' really only 86 - don't be fooled by all those Queen's birthdays.)
She is wonderful, yes.

Didn't half look grumpy at times though.

I would like whatever she takes to keep up the pace.
Well-i-am could be your new identity baza!
where did the private jet come from? Hope you enjoyed the weekend and the extra bank holiday
When seeing all the old footage of the Queen, there is no photos of her pregnant with any of the children. Was this not the 'done thing' back then ?
Towie - to help Madge keep the pace, she has £7.9M a year off us, several rent-free properties and a busload of staff.
I reckon you and me both will be in simialrly good condition in our late 80s given that little head start.
re. the preggie belly Towie - very much a hidden thing in the fifties. I have a photo of my mum with several of my brothers who were made to stand in front so the bump that was me could not be detected.
I would hazard a guess that whatever we lose on royal 'expenses' we more than make back in royal-inspired tourism.
Mosaic - hahaha, that is very true - but there still must be days when she really feels her age, despite all the help around her. I jut wonder what supplements she takes.
Didn't see too many of these lackeys when she stood for four hours in the cold and rain on Sunday.....think we've been through the costs argument enough now, just remember the 'us' you refer to numbers about 30 million taxpayers!!!
I doubt that having a lot of properties really keeps you healthier, Mosaic (though of course I wouldn't mind trying). And expensive dresses don't keep you warmer or drier than Primark ones.

But I suspect a lot of criticism of the queen is like that: Why should she have a race horse when I haven't got one?
London Businneses reported business up 5% this weekend, the VAT on that should cover it!!
I've often thought that mosaic. I expect every little pain is looked after immediately. One of the things I would not like though is she has to do what the Government tells her to do. I can't remember her ever behaving like her uncle the Duke of Windsor, though and I fancy her sons have hit the high spots quite a bit. Of course, it could have been carefully hidden, but she appears to have lived a fairly sedate life.
Considering the Queen and family cost us about 66 per year, yet bring in 176M to the UK treasury, i'd say it was a pretty good investment.
sorry that should read 66 pence per year.
