The whole idea of a Union is that it is mutually beneficial to all. And it is. We need them as much as they need us.

This is a difficult question because the word need is not defined.
However if we take a simplistic view and look at our trade balance it looks fairly level depending on which report you read.
One gave our Exports to the EU as 57% and Imports as 55%
Another stated it was Exports as 139 billion and Imports as 185 billion.
What is a fact we have a population over 60 million and the Europeans need that market so they are not going to erect barriers against us anymore than they have against Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.
